Nowadays hospital environments are faced with an increasing
threat of serious microbiological contaminations
or ‘hospital acquired infections’ (HAI’s), as they are
commonly known. The risk also affects the laundry process.
Bacteria coming from soiled linen through air, hands or human
contact during improper handling or processing of
laundry is an important cause of infection. The purpose of
managing the laundry process in on-premise laundries is,
amongst others, to decontaminate textiles using a disinfecting
process and then protect them from subsequent recontamination
throughout the supply chain till they reach the
end user.
Sluicing is an integral part of the early stages of this process.
Lead’s Tullis Sluice product is completely unique and is the only washer extractor worldwide developed for this specifi purpose with preset internationally designed Sluice programs, 9mm drum perforations to allow or the disposal of solid waste and a large 3 inch drain valve.
As South Africa’s premier laundry equipment supplier to the
healthcare sector, Lead Laundry and Catering is committed
to supporting the implementation of the new European directive
(EN 14065), an emerging standard that enables the
control of the microbiological quality of laundered textiles. All
Lead’s equipment achieves and surpasses the highest international
hygiene standards for the healthcare environment.
